About Ritemark

How We Test and Check What We Write

Jarmo Tuisk2 min read

We make Ritemark, and we also write comparisons that include other tools. So you should know how we work, and where our bias could show.

Who writes

Our guides and comparisons are written by the team that builds Ritemark. Jarmo Tuisk, who leads Ritemark, is responsible for what we publish, and his name is on it.

Tested or checked

We use two words on purpose.

Tested means we did the reader's task ourselves, in Ritemark and in each tool we compare, on the same files. The page says the date and the versions we used, and the screenshots come from that test.

Checked means we read each maker's own pages and documents on the date we give, and noted the versions we had installed. We use it when we did not run the task in every tool.

Prices come from each maker's own pricing page, with the date we checked. Prices change, so check before you buy.

How we handle our own product

In every comparison, each tool gets a line on who it suits and when to pick something else, Ritemark included. We don't put Ritemark first in a ranking. We say "best for" a job instead, because the right tool depends on the job.

What we say about Ritemark comes from its own documentation and release notes. If a feature only works on the Mac, or needs a paid plan, the page says so.

How we use AI

We write with the help of AI, and we build a tool for exactly that. A person decides what we write and why. Every claim is matched to our own test or to a primary source before the page goes live. A second, independent review reads the page against those sources. No number, quote or source goes out that nobody checked.

Dates and corrections

Each page shows when it was first published and when it was last updated. We change the "Updated" date only when we change the page itself. If we got a fact wrong, we fix it and say what changed.
